GYNAECOMASTIA SURGERY - Treatment for abnormal enlargement of male breasts.

gynaecomastia

Gynaecomastia is a common condition where there is an abnormal enlargement of male breasts. Three forms of Gynaecomastia are the glandular, fatty glandular and the simple fatty type. They may be associated with ptosis and skin excess.

By the combination of Liposuction and glandular excision a symmetrical result can be obtained. When the enlargement is purely fatty in nature, Liposuction alone is sufficient. Skin reduction is required in patients where the breasts have ptosis (sagging)

Gynaecomastia seen during puberty is due to hormonal imbalance, this form of enlargement usually reduces as they get older.
Gynaecomastia in the young male affects the self image of the individual and may cause psychological problems if untreated.
